Guyanese-born author Marcia Badal has released her second book, Karcia’s Story Unfolds, a love story inspired by real-life experiences that explores the challenges, emotions and complexities of relationships.

“I wanted to tell a story that reflects the realities of love, showing that true relationships are shaped not only by happy moments but also by challenges, sacrifices, uncertainty and the memories we create along the way,” Badal told Ignite News.

Badal began writing after migrating to the United States following an accident in Guyana. Her debut book, Jewel of Writing, gained international recognition and was published by US Global Publisher.

Jewel of Writing was featured in NY Weekly, US Insider, Famous Times and CEO Weekly. It also received coverage from the News Chronicles of the Finger Lakes and the Tioga Courier, the newspaper for which Badal writes.

She said her journey from Guyana to the international literary stage has been one of perseverance and passion.

“Writing has allowed me to share my experiences with readers beyond my homeland and pursue my dream of becoming an internationally recognised author,” she added.

Badal received a certificate from the International Impact Book Award for outstanding literary achievement and is due to travel to Arizona to receive a literary award. Jewel of Writing is also set to be showcased at the Guadalajara International Book Fair.

She attended Cove and John Secondary School before continuing her education at Swami Purnanand Secondary School, formerly Hindu College. She later studied computing, accounting and finance.

Badal also worked with the National Communications Network Inc. and participated in charitable initiatives. In 2010, she took part in the Miss Guyana Earth Pageant.
